BEIJING, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) — Nepalese Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli will pay an official visit to China from Dec. 2 to 5 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
Born in Nepal in 1952, Oli is chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist)(CPN-UML). He entered politics in the 1970s and joined the Communist Party of Nepal. He has served as minister of home affairs and deputy prime minister of Nepal. He has been elected prime minister three times, namely in October 2015, February 2018, and May 2021.
In March 2016 and June 2018, he paid two official visits to China as prime minister of Nepal.
He was elected the prime minister of Nepal in July 2024 for the fourth time. ■
